A Former NBA Star is Now a Champion For Georgia’s Foster Youth

Tuesday, March 17th, 2026

Former Atlanta Hawks star Kevin Willis knows the power of having people in your corner. Growing up in inner-city Detroit, Kevin and his older brother made a promise as teenagers that one day they would find a way to give back and help young people build better futures.

Today, Kevin is fulfilling that promise as Chairman of the Atlanta Children’s Foundation and a strong supporter of the Fostering Success Act. In his message to Georgia’s business community, he highlights the opportunity to redirect state tax dollars to provide critical support for youth aging out of foster care each year.

From housing and education to job training and transportation, these resources help young people build stable and successful lives. Kevin believes that when youth have mentors, guidance, and opportunity, their trajectory can change.

He encourages Georgia’s executives and business leaders to get involved and use this program to invest in the next generation of the state’s workforce.
