Southeast Georgia Health System To Host August Blood Drive

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Wednesday, September 9th, 2026

Southeast Georgia Health System is encouraging community members to roll up their sleeves and help save lives by donating blood. A single donation can impact up to three lives and help ensure blood is available when patients need it most.

In partnership with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, the Health System will host a blood drive Thursday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Brunswick Campus. The LifeSouth Mobile Unit will be located at the corner of Parkwood Drive and Kemble Avenue.

Blood donations are essential for patients experiencing medical emergencies, undergoing surgery, receiving cancer treatment and managing other serious health conditions. Half of the units collected during the blood drive will be donated directly to Southeast Georgia Health System to help care for patients in the local community.

As a thank-you, donors will receive a $20 e-gift card, T-shirt and free cholesterol screening—along with the satisfaction of knowing their donation can make a lifesaving difference.

All eligible donors are encouraged to participate. Register to donate today by visiting the LifeSouth website! Walk-ins are also welcome!
