Colony Bank Announces Promotion of Jim Jowers to Director of Project Management, SVP

Colony Bank today announced that Jim Jowers has been promoted to Director of Project Management and Senior Vice President, a newly created position focused on the execution of Colony Bank’s strategic vision.
Commenting on the announcement, Heath Fountain, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “We are pleased to announce Jim’s promotion to Director of Project Management. When Jim joined Colony Bank nearly 15 years ago, it immediately became obvious that he was a dedicated professional and valuable resource, with exceptional talent and leadership abilities. As his responsibilities increased, he earned the respect of the entire Colony Bank team and was chosen to lead many cross company initiatives. His broad experience and knowledge of all areas of the bank made him a natural choice for this important initiative, as successful project management is critical to our ability to grow, expand and continue to deliver the high customer service level that we are known for in our markets. We look forward to the continuing contributions Jim will make in this new role as Director of Project Management.”
Jowers joined Colony Bank in 2006 as Director of Information Technology, managing information technology, online banking, the call center and treasury management. In 2015, he was promoted and given the added responsibilities for information security, vendor management, project management and business continuity. Prior to joining Colony Bank, Jowers served as Assistant Director of Information Technology for Coffee County Board of Education, where he was responsible for installing, monitoring and managing the organization’s computer operations. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Management Information Systems from Barrington University and dual Associate’s degrees in Business Management and Computer Information Systems from South Georgia College. Jowers and his wife Wendy have two children, Madison (21) and Collin (17), and attend Douglas Christian Fellowship Church in Douglas, Georgia. During his free time, Jowers enjoys spending time with his family in the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, and watching college football.
