AT&T and Human I-T provided Communities In Schools of Georgia in Troup County 50 refurbished laptops today to distribute to Troup County residents in need.
The computers, funded by an AT&T contribution, were given Communities In Schools of Georgia in Troup County youth and families. As the state’s leading organization providing drop-out prevention, Communities In Schools of Georgia in Troup County connects the most vulnerable students to the support they need in the classroom and beyond.
“In today’s world, laptops are more than just devices—they are lifelines to learning, exploration, and achievement. Many of our students face barriers that make it challenging to keep up in a digital world, but AT&T’s donation of laptops is helping to remove those barriers,” said Tabitha Lewis, Regional Director, Communities In Schools of Georgia. “These laptops will enable our students to complete homework, develop digital skills, and pursue their dreams with confidence. We appreciate AT&T’s support in creating brighter futures for Troup County youth.”
“A connected community is a thriving community, and AT&T’s donation of laptops to Communities In Schools of Georgia is helping make that vision a reality for Troup County. By expanding digital access, AT&T is opening doors for our youth and providing new pathways to education, career exploration and personal growth,” said Patrick Crews, Chair, Troup County Board of Commissioners. “AT&T’s continued investment in Troup County demonstrates a strong commitment to our youth and to further connecting our communities.”
“AT&T and Communities In Schools of Georgia working together to support Troup County youth is a great example of community collaboration,” said Connie Hensler, President and CEO, LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce. “By providing laptops to students and families, AT&T is helping bridge the digital divide and ensure that Troup County students have the tools they need to achieve academic and personal success.”
This effort is part of AT&T’s initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. AT&T is committing $5 billion to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030.
“AT&T is committed to helping close the digital divide, and we are proud to support Communities in Schools of Georgia in Troup County by providing laptops to Troup County youth and families,” said Colin Martin, Regional Director of External Affairs, AT&T Georgia. “Through this collaboration, we are creating pathways to success and connecting more Georgians to greater possibility.”
