Governor Kemp Appoints New Troup County Solicitor General

Governor Brian P. Kemp appointed Sandra H. Taylor to serve as Troup County Solicitor General. The position was vacated following Nina Markette Baker's appointment to the Superior Court of the Coweta Judicial Circuit.

"As Chief Assistant Solicitor and former private practice attorney, Sandra Taylor has always shown great integrity, skill, and dedication to the citizens of her community," said Governor Kemp. "I look forward to Sandra continuing her laudable service to Troup County as Solicitor General."

Sandra H. Taylor is currently the Chief Assistant Solicitor General of Troup County and has served in that role since 2013. For twenty-four years, Sandra led her own private practice in LaGrange, focusing on criminal, civil, and commercial litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Sandra earned her bachelor’s degree from Emory University and law degree from the Walter F. Georgia School of Law at Mercer University.

Since 2004, Taylor has served as a board member of the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, and she currently serves as the board’s Vice-Chairman. Sandra is the Board Chairman of the Calumet Center for Healing and Attachment and an active member in the Rotary Club of LaGrange. Sandra is also a member of the First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange.
