Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, March 11th, 2019

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 6 for the 2019 Georgia Archives Symposium. This year’s topic, “Land Use in Georgia: Urban Planning and Neighborhood Change in the Peach State,” will feature individual and panel presentations, plus a student performance and lunch slide show of images from collections at the Georgia Archives.

Topics include public park development and the evolution of public space; cartographic ‘layering’ to trace the planned and unplanned development of areas over time; public and business reactions to governmental zoning and development changes; and the impact on communities in evolving areas of Georgia.

The symposium will take place on April 6, 2019, from 10:00-4:00. It is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

Lunch will be available for a cash donation. This year’s symposium is sponsored by the Georgia Archives and Friends of Georgia Archives and History.
